This quote is telling us that if you are hanging with bad people you should rather be by yourself. It also tells us that if you are going to hang out with some make those people be men or women with good quality. This quote means not to be afraid of being alone. Its better to be with quality people than people with a bad reputation. A good example of this quote would be if your friends are going out but you they are going smoke and you choose not to go.
